I could not have finished installing my new upholstered sling back chairs without the Slingmaster spreader tool.

Spreader Tool
Worked perfectly! i had been trying for months to reset the spacer bar on my patio sling chair. With this tool, i had the bar reset in a matter of MINUTES!!! I'm so glad I purchased the Spreader Tool

spreader tool
At first I had trouble keeping the tool to stay on the chair. It appeared that the tool was reaching it's limit and began to bow slightly causing the tool to slip off. After several trys, I used a C-Clamp on each side to hold the tool in place and it then worked well.

Replacing slings? A MUST HAVE tool
M husband and I replaced the slings on two swivel chairs, and two ottomans. The ottomans were easy, without the tool, because it was such a short run, and there were no tension bars to deal with. The chairs were another matter! We tried with a car jack, etc and it’s just wasn’t happening. Many hours wasted before we bought this tool, which did the job quick and easy.

great tool
Thanks for the tool it makes the stretching process simple ....line the inside of spreaders with soft material for grip and the process is very easy....

Speader Tool
If you are going to replace slings on your furniture ... this is a must ... great and made things easier for installation ... It seem to slip off a few times, but was an easy fix with a piece of duck tap ... thanks ..

Needs help to work
As soon as you put a great deal of pressure on it, the tool would slip out. If you put the longer part of the bracket in the back so it wouldn't slip out you would risk tearing the fabric. I wound up placing a small piece of wood between the chair and the bracket. This kept it from tearing the fabric and kept in from sliding out. Finally worked but was very difficult.

Spreader tool
This tool is absolutely necessary to attach the slings. It worked perfectly. My only suggestion is that C-clamps are also necessary to hold it on the chair rails.

Don't even think about doing a Carter Grandle without it
Hi I have a set of Carter Grandle swivel/rock chairs that are about 15 years old. One fell victim to an errant firework and I had to figure that I had gotten my use out of the slings at this point. I ordered the slings. I cleaned the old chairs and removed the slings. I installed the new slings. So far so good. Then I went to re-install the spreader bars. My hand strength isn't what it once was so I couldn't get the Quick clamps to spread the rails quite enough. I looked around and saw this spreader. I called and spoke with an associate (Don?? as I recall). He apologized that he would't be able to ship until the next day (Friday). I said I understood and that it was OK. Today is Saturday and I received the unit. (2 days). It took me about 30 Minutes to re-install the spreaders in 4 chairs! So, to sum up! Great service great product! Thanks

Do not try it without it
I tried reslinging my chairs without and bent the side of one chair. Ordered this and it was a breeze. Very handy tool. One suggestions to buy some weather stripping and cut some pieces to put on the angle iron that touches the sling rails...I did that and no scratches as well

could not do without this tool
made changing out the slings so much easier and did by myself, using clamps
